Custom pools drawn for one property

A pool designed exactly to your specifications and your property: infinity and wet edges, lagoons, acrylic features and tile chosen for one client.

Infinity, Zero Entry & Wet Edge: where the water leaves and how it comes back

Every pool meets the world at its waterline, and these three edges decide what you see there. An infinity edge, also called a vanishing edge, lets water spill over one wall into a catch basin below it, so the surface appears to run straight into the view. The Key Biscayne Residence is built this way: glass tile, a teak deck and Biscayne Bay beyond the lip.

Water that leaves has to come back. The catch basin feeds a surge tank, and a pump returns the water through the filter to the pool. The weir wall must be dead level along its whole length, or the sheet breaks into streams. A wet edge works on the same principle with a smaller drop, and zero entry slopes the floor up out of the water so the pool begins at the deck like a shoreline.

Which edge fits depends on the view, the fall of the lot and who will be swimming. The office puts it plainly: there are no limits on your options for creating your vision. The conversation starts in Pinecrest at 305.226.7510.

Lagoon & Freeform: a shape cut to the property

A lagoon or freeform pool has no straight edge to apologise for. The outline follows the lot: around a live oak, along a seawall, down a slope, into the curve of a garden. Journeys End Custom Design shows how a dark-edged pool sits in a lawn under live oaks, with the water lit from below once the light goes.

The craft is in the geometry you cannot see. A curve has to be laid out stake by stake, and the shell, the plumbing and the steps all follow it. On a tight lot a freeform plan also hands back usable deck, because the water bends away from the house instead of cutting a rectangle through the yard.

That is what a design "tailor-made to fit a particular client and their property" means in practice: the pool is drawn after the site is walked, not before.

Acrylic Pool Features, Deck Jets & Bubblers, Custom Pool Tiles

Acrylic is cast in thick panels that stay optically clear, so a pool wall, a window or a bench can be see-through. Acrylic Pool Features turn the side of the water into something you look into from the deck or the room next to it.

Deck Jets & Bubblers are the small voices of a pool. Jets arc a thin stream from the deck into the water, and bubblers lift a soft dome of flow from a shelf or a sun deck. Both can be plumbed to be switched on and off on their own, apart from the main circulation.

Custom Pool Tiles set the colour of the water. Dark tile reads deep, pale tile reads bright, and glass mosaic throws light back at the eye. The Miami Beach Residence has a curved rooftop spa in blue glass mosaic with the ocean and the towers behind it.

There are no limits on your options for creating your vision.
